A weekly grocery list you set up once
Updated
Put the items you buy most weeks into one base list. Each week, create a new list from it, delete what you still have and add the extras. Tickalot leaves the base untouched, so the next week starts from the full list again.
A starter list for two
Take what suits you and drop the rest:
| Section | Items |
|---|---|
| Fruit and veg | bananas, apples, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, potatoes, salad leaves |
| Bakery | bread, wraps |
| Dairy and eggs | milk, butter, cheese, yoghurt, eggs |
| Meat | chicken breast, mince |
| Fish | salmon |
| Pantry | pasta, rice, tinned tomatoes, olive oil, coffee, tea |
| Frozen | frozen vegetables |
| Household | toilet paper, paper towel, dishwashing liquid |
A family can add lunchbox snacks, extra fruit and a second pack of milk. Keep the base to what you buy most weeks. One off items belong on the list for the week.
Build the base list
- New list, choose Shopping and switch on "Make it a base list".
- Say or type the items, for example "milk, eggs, bread and bananas". Commas and "and" split them apart.
- Check the sections. The app picks an emoji and a section from each name. Correct one by hand once, and the app keeps that for every later list.
Create the list for this week
- New list from this base. The list receives every base item and a name such as "Home basics - 27.10".
- Delete what you have. What remains is this week's list. Deleted items wait as tiles at the top, and a tap restores one.
- Add the extras, such as "croissants 2 packs of 3".
- Share it with whoever does the shop this week.
Edit the base later
- A new photo on a base item reaches each list made from the base.
- A new item in the base joins the end of those lists.
- An item removed from the base leaves the lists where it is still unticked.
Edits you make in this week's list stay in that list.
